:eek:I have a Taylor thermometer that I have had forever and decided to calibrate it. Put it in boiling water and got a reading of 206. Wow! Adjusted to 212 and then decided to try it at 32. Got a reading of 40.
I have been mashing alot higher than I thought and that just sucks. Thermapen on the way.
Do you think that if it is off 6 degrees in that 180 degree range that it may have only been off maybe 2 around mash temp? Damn.

    Remember to check your elevation.

Water boils at slightly lower temps based on how far you are from sea level.

Ought to be around 209F, depending on the actual barometric pressure.

Just an FYI for when you check your new thermo :).
