Hi. I'm new to kegging and recently left a new beer at approx 2.43 vols or so (11psi at 39F) in a pin-lock Corny keg for several days to absorb.

The beer is going elsewhere, so I disconnected the gas and took it out of the fridge.

I know this will raise the temperature and the pressure.

A few days later, I found maybe a quarter-teaspoon worth of beer on top of the liquid post, with a few tiny bubbles in it.

I wiped it off, and shortly thereafter, it re-appeared.

I wiped it off again, and relieved the head pressure. It didn't immediately re-appear, but after a day or so (presumably once some gas found its way back into the head), this tiny leak re-appeared.

Is this normal? Bad? Tolerable? Is my beer going flat in any meaningful way? Did I do something wrong by disconnecting it, warming it ahead of time before handing it over?

Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

Release all pressure. Replace rings in and on post. Re-attach securely, re-pressurize.

    Leak bad.

Sometimes a liberal dose of keg lube can stop a slow leaking poppet.

Your poppet is leaking. They are not expensive, but you need to get the right one for the brand/model of keg you have. Most good-sized homebrew supply stores have them.

I'd try lubing or re-seating it. Make sure to release pressure in the keg and of course sanitize the parts before re-assembling.
