conditioning

    Ok... so your gravity bottoms out. You bottle. You are adequately carbed... but the beer is a little green still. Do you leave it at room temp, or chill for a week or two before enjoying it at peak flavor.

    Let's assume a "typical" brew.. like a pale ale with OG = 1.040 to 1.060...

    I've found that conditioning,on average takes a week,maybe two more than carbonating @ room temp. That's for the average gravity beer. Then at least a week fridge time to form & settle any chill haze & get more co2 into solution.

    Leave it at room temp. Conditioning slows down with the cold, so one week at room temp may equal two or more at fridge temp.

    Yup. The cold will def slow down the whole process. Carb & condition at 70F or a lil better. Chill 1-2 weeks after that for good carbonation & clarity.
