So I just whipped up a starter for tomorrow's brew, and the wierdest thing happened. It was 100g DME in 1L water, boiler on the stove in a 2L flask for ~15 minutes, and it came out crystal clear. There was no hot break left in the flask and no cold break. I've never seen this before and wondering what's up. The only difference is this time I boiled with the stir bar in the flask. I've never done that before, but a little searching suggested that it would be ok. Any thoughts?

DME shouldn't really have hot or cold break. its been boiled once in a vacuum during the 'extract' manufacturing process.

    so, yeah, normal.
