So Ive been using Keg Lube (the stuff that comes in the little black storage container) since I started kegging, and Ive noticed that when it gets cold it hardens up. Coincidentally Ive had 2 CO2 leaks recently and have no idea where they came from. The only thing that seemed to make them go away was purging the CO2, removing the cap and putting a lot more of the keg lube on the o-ring (which I was always told it only takes a thin film, but that doesnt seem to be working). Also, the stuff is d**n near impossible to wash/wipe off so Im looking for a change. Morebeer has some stuff called CIP Keg Lube. Anyone use it? Thoughts? Suggestions?

Hmmm, that's odd. I keep my keg lube in the keg fridge and it stays soft.

I use the morebeer stuff and I like it. I haven't noticed and issues with using it cold, and it seems to wash off okay. When cleaning kegs I wipe off any excess then clean the keg parts in PBW.

Do you have the stuff in the black container?

    Like this? [IMG]

Cuz mine is nice and lube-y when its warm and Ive noticed (like this morning when I had to open my keg lid to add more) when it gets cold that it is still kinda soft but definitely caked on more. More like frosting on an old cake haha

mine is repackaged stuff in a white container same as yours.

I am very sparing when applying it, just a tiny dab on my finger then run the o ring through it. There is no excess, just a nicely lubed and shiny o-ring
