hey guys, I made a pretty good oatmeal stout but I want to add some cocoa pouder. Ive seen in the recipe database up to 8oz in the last 10min of boil. Is that a very large amount or does that seem cool. Thanks for the info. :rockin:

I put 9oz in mine. It's very chocolaty, but that's exactly what I was after. Just depends on how much you want the chocolate to stand out. I really like chocolate. :D

I mean bakes chocolate is not really going to add a chocolate flavor to it, from my experience it adds a bitter flavor.

Chocolate is bitter. I used pure fat free cocoa and it has a nice dark chocolate flavor.

I added 8oz unsweetened bakers cocoa to the mash. I also added 1 lb of lactose with 15min. left in the boil and it came out just right. Not overly sweet and not too bitter.
