I'm new to brewing, so new that the 'stuff' is still being shipped.

My question(s) is this, (I'm sure there might already be a similar post so please link)

If I'm trying to do what I think is a HERMS set-up, can I use my Chiller as a means of regulating the wort temp, then use the same device to chill the wort after the boil?

Also, I'm assuming it's not a good idea to send the wort through the fly sparge due to sediment getting stuck. Should I just send it back via curvy hose to create a bit of a whirlpool?

Ok, one more. I purchased this:

What is the Recirculation part? I see there are three valves/openings what's that about?

    thanks in advance,
    nate
