I brewed according to the recipe for the brewer's best double ipa and calculated the corn sugar based on if i remember for an ipa and it wound up way over carbonated. I know it finished fermentation so i'm not sure if i primed too much sugar (my guess i did) or if there was some other issue... unfortunately i don't record how much sugar i prime with in my log book.

For future brews, use this: http://www.tastybrew.com/calculators/priming.html
(The BB Double IPA should be calc'd based on the India Pale Ale style)

If you're using dry measuring cups rather than weight, use this to convert: http://www.cookitsimply.com/measurements/cups/sugar-icing-confectioners-0070-02j17.html

My guess is you did what I did the first time I made that, and used 3/4 cups of corn sugar. It was a foamy little bastard after 3 weeks. ;)

2/3 cup, or just under (e.g. 5/8 cup) is closer to what you want to prime BB's Double IPA, assuming a 5 gallon batch and standard fermentation temp (68ish).

3/4 cup sounds about right... i measure by weight so about 3.5oz was prob what i used.
