I'm looking for an economical 5-6 gal. brewpot that I can pick up this weekend? Anyone have any suggestions on where to buy one? I would like to stay under $30 since this is only a temporary solution.

If its temporary, hit up your local walmart or target. They usually have some decent stock pots for short money

Chicagoland winemakers in Elmhurst has a 20 quart stainless steel stock pot for around $30 or $35. It's not the thickest walled pot, but it should do.

Also look for a local restaurant supply store.

If you are in the near north suburbs you can try the Super H mart next to the Home Depot in Niles. I've seen SS pots in that size range there before. Might cost a couple extra $$, but not much.
