I'm from UT. I thought our laws were somewhat restrictive. I've been able to go to any brewery or craft pub and refill whatever growler I had. No one has ever questioned the name on the bottle. I do believe that our brew culture looks out for itself, and if you go somewhere to fill a growler, they care more about the fact that you want to drink fresh craft beer than where you bought the piece of glass that contains it.

I went to Brueprint brewery in Apex this weekend and they said they will fill any growler as long as it is clean too. http://www.brueprint.com/

I like their "Brue Diamond IPA".

There's a growler filling station in a local convenience store about a half mile from my house here in north-west Georgia. They rinse out the growlers on the spot and refill them. I don't think they care who's growler it is, but they sell empties if you want to buy one.

Their scotch ale is about all I liked and that was solid. Their IPA was the worst IPA I had tried in a while. This was right when they opened though so perhaps it has improved/changed. I like the place, but their beers just didn't draw me back. I took a 64 and 32 ounce growler home of their scotch ale and haven't returned since unfortunately.
