Boiling the Immersion Chiller

    As an early Christmas gift, I received an IC. After using it for the first time, I read that one should pre-boil the IC to remove some sort of coating on the copper...I didn't do that. So, I am wondering what off flavors might be produced by this.

    Nah....it'll be fine....that is unless the IC was green....If it was brand new copper it should be fine...

    I think the worry may be about some of the machining oil, but really you'll be just fine, I doubt it affects anything (I didn't pre-boil mine when I built it)
