those of you that have done this, where did you buy your stainless mesh? i'm looking for ideally 316 stainless, ~300 mesh size, but all the vendors i've found through google list prices that are pretty much equal to just ordering one from http://www.utahbiodieselsupply.com/brewingfilters.php#biab or the like. Am i able to get a 48x36 or so piece somewhere at a good enough price that this still makes sense? best i've found is http://www.twpinc.com/ that comes out to ~100 dollars shipped, and then i'll need various other pieces to build it out, making the custom prebuilt option seem all the better.

    thanks in advance

Have you tried ebay? That's where I got my stainless mesh.

what seller? i haven't found any ~300 micron mesh in large enough sheets (for less than the retail seller i listed) i need a 48x24 inch piece and a 24x24 piece or a 48x36 piece.

I would say forget about the basket and buy a quality custom made BIAB bag from member wilserbrewer!

I think I own 8 of his bags for different BIAB applications from grain to hops. A+++

thanks, i have heard great things about his bags, and am currently a BIAB brewer (homemade bags though), just exploring a largely unnecessary but still interesting possible project. :mug:

Dudadiesel.com. They have bucket strainers. I have a 70 micron one that works great.
