I have recently bought a Bulldog Brewer (a similar brewer to the Grainfather), previously I was doing all grain BIAB.

I'm looking to get some software, particularly to help me calculate the water volumes needed to brew with my Bulldog Brewer. I've got the free trial of Beersmith2 and am a little overwhelmed with setting it up.

Has anyone used the Bulldog Brewer with Beersmith2? Any tips you could share would by much appreciated.

    Thanks
    Dan

If it's not in equipment screen add it in, then you'll need to edit the equipment. These will setup the defaults for the equipment. Mostly need to edit the following.

    Batch size
    Efficiency
    Mash tun vol
    Lauter dead space
    Boil off
    Trub/chiller loss.
    Batch size.

These are the main things to get you in ballpark. I would Probably start with the grainfather profile, resave it as bulldog, then edit the items above. Hope this helps, good luck.

Thanks for the tip Stieg000. I have only done one brew with the bulldog so I don't know what to enter for all the boiloff etc yet. So I'll do a couple of brews and use the Grainfather profile like you suggest and then try to dial it in.

Short circuited brewers has a good video on how to set up an electric system on BeerSmith. May be worth a few minutes to watch it at
