For those in Atlanta, I thought I would spread the word. From Craigslist...

    http://atlanta.craigslist.org/nat/for/2860734817.html

"Any Atlanta area home brewers want to do a group buy on "like new" Ball Lock corny kegs?
I am making a trip in 2 weeks, and plan to pick up 50 kegs. At this quantity, cost should be under $30 per keg (still waiting on exact quote)
Send me an email if you are interested, let me know how many you would purchase at this price.
No money required up front, you pay for your kegs when you pick them up from me.
    Thanks! Happy Brewing!"

I would want to know where the CL-poster is getting the kegs and just cut out the middle man.

From the ad it sounds like part of the reason they are so cheap is because they are being bought in a large quantity. So even if you "cut out the middle man" you might be paying more for just a few kegs. At under $30 for like new kegs, who cares if the dude is making a few bucks. That's dirt cheap now-a-days.

they're getting them from ebay, they used the same picture as this ad: http://www.ebay.com/itm/5-gallon-ba...851?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item19cd40c2cb

the ebay listing was linked on here a few days ago. Their "like new" kegs are ~$40 and the "good" ones are ~$30, the poster is probably getting the $30 kegs, and picking them up. if you just contact them direct and buy bulk they can ship on pallets, i'm looking at picking up 20 to me in NoVA

ok - i'll start a thread - already had several folks PM me about a bulk keg order to DC/MD/VA

    I'm located in Herndon/Reston VA

I may be doing a grain buy as well. Look for a thread probably in the group buy area.

I just bought 33 from that seller. We got them for about 33 a keg shipped. Not a keg in the bunch I wouldn't have kept. A good number of them were still under pressure.

Did you ever start a thread on this? I'm in NoVA and could use a few more kegs if the price is right.

Yeah, guess it says that in the rules. I would've done it in the Group Buy section as well. Guess you can start it in Classifieds and we can bump it to the top once/twice a day. Seems there's definitely enough need for it!

I too am in Frederick, MD and would be interested in a few. I can make it to Reston/ Herndon for the other Frederick folks. I need to hit up my favorite hole in the wall The Tortilla Factory before it closes.

I posted to the bulk buy thread right before it was deleted I guess. I am also in Frederick and would like 4 kegs. Maybe all of us Frederick guys can work something out so only 1 person does the pick up in exchange for a growler of homebrew.
