i recently inherited three ceramic jugs that were used to make wine sometime early last century (they belonged to my wife's great-great grandfather) and have not been used in living memory. are they usable as secondary fermenters (with airlocks)?

    thanks!!!

My German great-grandparents made beer in their washtub. So, pretty much any vessel is "usable." I like plastic jugs just because they're light and not fragile.

I'd check into their value as antiques first.
