Are stainless steel shanks with the Perlick 525ss worth the extra money?

    I think so. Given a choice I prefer stainless steel in any equipment that touches my beer.

    I love my 525SS. I can go a week without cracking the tap and not have any stickiness or clogging. I also like the non-reactivity of stainless stell. Check the vendor section for other suppliers. I find Amazon isn't the greatest with specialized brewing supplies.

    When I got my system from BirdmanBrewing, I upgraded to the SS shanks to go along with the 525SS faucets. Since they're in constant contact with the beer, I simply prefer to go stainless.

    The chrome in my old setup was eaten away in less than 2 years. It had to go somewhere, and guess who drank it? I'm all stainless now.

    Perlick faucets are awesome, one of my favorite purchases. No more sticky taps.
