I love the "Personal Brewing Without Compromise". I think having to use extract in a $6,000 system is a pretty big compromise...

    also this

Our dry extract is unhopped wort from the brewhouse that has been dried gently into powder form. It doesn’t age and can be stored at ambient temperatures.

You can still brew your own wort... You aren't beholden to using their ingredients. The novelty is it's an all-in-one fermentation and serving piece of equipment. How you come up with 23L of wort to full it with, is up to you.

Would I buy it? No. But it's not just for making prehopped kits.

It's a 6k fermenter, temperature control system and keg tap, rather than a 6k brew house.

    Either seems a bit pricy.
