when saying 3/4 cup of corn sugar per 5 gal., is the corn sugar packed into the measuring cup or loosely filled?

Sorry, I normally force carb- I'm going to guess loose, based on cooking techniques, so hopefully a knowledgeable natural carb brewer will chime in and approve/disapprove my statement.

I would say loose also but I always weigh my ingredients. If you are going to be a brewer, do yourself a favor and buy a scale.

You'll find that corn sugar isn't one of those things that really "packs" that well.

Just scoop it out...shake the measuring cup until you get a nice level 3/4 cup and go with that.
