was starting my boil late friday night (i work second shift) and the brew pot starting making loud whining noises, kinda like a jet engine. I've never had this happen before, have I created a beer that is evil, brewed at 1 am and destined to destroy me? If so is there a way to defeat it? I may have to drink it all before it before it attacks :mug:

I'm thinking it may be fixed by stirring and getting the steam bubbles off the walls and floor of the pot. If it was one of those fancy expensive triclad pots I might be worried that extra stress was working between the layers and it could be breaking.

stirring did quiet it down. not an expensive pot, just a large stock pot boscov's had on sale. If you don't hear from me after 4 weeks, the brew has won. Avenge me! :D

Does the sound change with boil volume? You might've hit a resonance frequency. No worries.

no change in sound but the women was very angry that the house smelled like beer when she got up for work. If I can make different sounds, I may try to make brew pot music.
