    Hey fellas,

Finally pulled the trigger and built my ferm chamber. Nothing interesting about this one except the repurposing of my brew shelving. It was a mastercraft metal shelving unit that I insulated and covered with plywood. Used 1" R-5 and 6 tubes of acrylic and silicone caulking.

The chamber itself is pretty large for such a small fridge so I was worried about cycle time. I have all my cellar beer in there as well as 2 carboys full of water and 2 full of an IPA that I brewed up yesterday.

Temps are holding fine, I am looking for some feedback though on compressor cycle times. I have it set for 19.0 and it will hold under 20.0 for about 1:45, then run for roughly 15min. Does this sound like a normal/acceptable cycle or will this fridge die young?

Here are a few pictures of the build View attachment ImageUploadedByHome Brew1439316172.002716.jpg View attachment ImageUploadedByHome Brew1439316194.148200.jpg View attachment ImageUploadedByHome Brew1439316212.386076.jpg View attachment ImageUploadedByHome Brew1439316229.645013.jpg View attachment ImageUploadedByHome Brew1439316245.505187.jpg View attachment ImageUploadedByHome Brew1439316259.142974.jpg View attachment ImageUploadedByHome Brew1439316275.418236.jpg

Looks good man. As for cycle time, maybe rig up a fan inside to keep air circulating.

Ya I have a small 4" fan but only runs when compressor is running. Would have it go all the time make a considerable difference you think?

I think so. I am not 100% sure though. Give it a try and see if continuous circulation slows down the cycle time

Also, where is the probe placement?

Roger will try the fan running continuous. The probe is in a shot glass full of water mid way down the chamber. Same thing I have for keezer.
