    All,

On the advice of my LHBS, I pulled the airlock off my primary yesterday to clean all the gunk off after all of the foam (or is that krausen?) :D got in it from a batch I brewed this weekend. Those gnarly little things are hard to clean at the bottom of the little tube. What's the best way to get at the bottom of these tubes to clean them?

Soak it in a solution of Oxyclean or TSP (or even dishwasher detergent) for a while and rinse very well then sanitize again. For this reason, it would be handy if you had a spare airlock.

If not, the spray from a bottle washer can help, although it gets messy.

The 3 pc ones are easier to clean. If soaking it doesn't work, drop a buck on a new one, and pick up some spares. You never now when you're going to need one - you'll be happy you have extra.
