My airlock only bubbled for less than 24 hours. Is this something that is wrong or is that normal? The beer is a porter with a SG of 1.044 that I pitched with a Wyeast Activator British Ale yeast.

What is the current SG? Airlock activity doesn't really mean anything.

My second brew hit terminal gravity in less than 48 hours.

Your beer will be fine. All your airlock does is vent CO2. Let it sit 3 or 4 weeks and all will be well.
