With all the stories about introducing oxygen to the beer during secondary and risking off flavors/infections, can I just add my vanilla extract into primary after 2 weeks and let it sit another week before bottling?

I would recommend just dropping it in after you soak in vodka for 24 hrs.
I Made a great Smashed Punkin Ale ,and w a vanilla bean and a cinnamon stick into secondary, w/in 48hrs it started to have a web like pelicle formation and turned to some wildly wierd beer in the corny.
People liked it but it was funky , ......I remade and used vodka to soak and left in primary....WOW...punkin pie oh ya.
I left the cinnamon/vanilla for three days and ... :mug:

    Cheers!
