So I made 3 different 2 gallon batches a week ago and left them with my sister to "take care of". Well when it came time for the secondary, she found a ton of fruit flies on them. Apparently keeping them covered was not on her priority of "taking care" of the wine.

Sorry, about the whining. I needed to share this with someone who knows what kind of pain i am going through.

Sorry for your loss. I'm sure it's a mistake you won't make again.

Add a little extra yeast, I bet the flies ferment out just fine.

Indy, I would be tempted to try it if it wasn't so gross.

Frazier, I definitely wont be trusting someone who says that, "wine making sounds fun, i can take care of them for you". I guess my tiny apartment will make a better winemaking facility than my sisters house.

Well I bet your sister could use a couple bottles as christmas gifts... Just strain out the bug parts before you bottle.
