So as I sit and wait for my first brew to finish I sit down with a Great White Beer (got a combo box thingy for xmas..12 pack) and read my newest maxim magazine. Anywho they have a great article on the guys that founded the Aspen Brew Company and then they list their 57 top beers. These range from as low as a Natty light to a Westvleren 12 that reads:

Westvleren 12 "Extremely limited..considered the best in the world"

So of course I had to go online. 40 for a single bottle or 800 a case...DAMN..but so interested now.

Anyhow if you have a chance read the article...its a good read

And I thought Arrogant Bastard was expensive...

Anyone tried this beer? I'm really curious about it myself!

Westy 12? Yeah its a good beer, but not anywhere worth the prices people are selling it for these days. It's so over hyped its pretty funny what people will do get a bottle of it.

Tastes like burnt bananas and rum.

12 was good, but I think people go into drinking it expecting that it's going to revolutionize their lives. It's probably one of the best Belgian Quads you'll ever have, but it really isn't THAT much better than other stuff out there. I personally liked the westy 8 better. I consider it "worth it" to get a bottle (at a more reasonable price than that, mine were closer to $20 each) to be able to say you've tried it, but I'd never blow the money for a case. I'd get a 6er at most.
