Hahahahah... how pathetic of some people... I got kicked out of the Tap Room. I am nothing. They couldn't handle me.

Sad.... so sad... even sadder, whatever mod agreed.

    They aren't friendly friends.

    :)

Did you steal that from your grandmother? ;)

I haven't had it yet - I need to set aside a weekend to drink and give feedback on home-brews. I'm sitting on way too many.

    Water, then treadmill.

Forgot to report the ending to Sunday brewday. Ended up 12 points higher than expected. Because of trying to bottle another batch that I was gonna use the yeast for on this one, I ended up going with a 50 minute hopstand. Started feeling like **** toward the end. Had a ****ty night of sleep, and now feel like **** today. Ugh. I hate being sick that 1-2 times in a year that it happens, though this just feels like allergy/sinus bs.

It was still a good brew day. Very relaxed, but didn't do any cleaning. Oh well. Gotta do it today before work.

Already got lots of activity this morning. But I tried the pitching cool method on this one. (Normally I go slightly warmer, or just go with ferment temps.)

Really excited about this one. Thanks for convincing me to go with rye friendlies!

Short week again :D Friday I'll be off, probably taking out another wall that day. Or I'll just screw off and go to a brewery.

    69% Maris Otter
    23.8% Rye Malt
    6% Caramunich I
1.2% acid malt (needed to help with mash pH)

I only had about 70 grams each of citra, amarillo, and hbc 429, so I kept that hop bill simple. Got 31 IBUs from Warrior at 60. Did 30 grams each in a hopstand, will dry hop with 40 grams each.

Damn man, got me curious. Did some investigating. Not sure what's up with that thread, but the couple of pages I read, seemed incredibly unfriendly. More drama in that one than the gun debate thread! No thanks!

That's diabolical. Who decides to give bad news on a Monday morning before you even get to your desk?
That's ****ed up man...everybody knows you get a two hour buffer on Monday morning, its just a known fact

Huh. Normally people using illegal vacation sites get the infections while they're THERE....

OT: I'd never heard of the tap room until now. Gave it a quick peruse. Felt afraid, and came back to my friendly-friend security blanket of comfortness.

    Morning all.

Blonde is going gangbusters as of yesterday afternoon, Rye Pale kegged. Tastes great.

I sampled the DIPA that I made a while back (temp control FUBAR beer) and it seems like the fruity esters have faded some and it's not solvent-y any more. Almost tastes like a decent hoppy barleywine at this point... going to let it sit a few more weeks before I decide if I'm going to dump it.

TLDR, I'm almost back in business after changing equipment and the back-to-back failed brews because of it. That said, other than needing to monitor my temp control much closer, I do like the buckets better.

Clean up is easier, transfer is easier, pulling samples, etc.

    Anyway, happy Monday.

I wouldn't know :( The last few years I've only used one website to book any sort of vacation. I haven't been to anywhere else besides Disney for a bit and the time share with my mom and brother. I will NOT be doing that again any time soon. Two of my group had norovirus, suffered through bed bugs, a hurricane, lost luggage, terrible service. I needed a vacation after that vacation

I went to Cuba in 2014 for a wedding... and a couple/few years before that I'd gone to Vietnam. And although I had to take anti-poo-everywhere medication the whole three weeks I was in Vietnam, it was still completely, 100% awesome.

On Saturday SWMBO and I bought our plane tickets to go to Peru for 2.5 weeks in May/June though! Should be fun. Anyone been to Peru and have any advice on things to do? We're currently debating between a 2day or 4day Machu Pichu tour.

I just go to work expecting $hits on fire monday. Stuff always happens on my jobs over the weekend it seems. Any monday where I get to work and don't have a flashing red light on my phone with 8 messages is a good monday

Moorings. I fell asleep on the couch, awoke at 2:30 or so to find I left half of Toby's RIS in my glass. So good warm. Mmmm.

Coffee. No one has bothered me yet this AM. Let's see how long that holds out.

lol that was this morning, and mostly because I was off on Friday. I had five calls from somebody asking me why I wasn't getting back to them, they were away from their desk for a minute and thought they heard the phone ring, crying uncontrollably...that sort of thing. Looks like I missed 54 calls with 14 messages.

Mine's the opposite. Usually, 3:30 on Friday is when everything decides to go to hell in a handbasket and everyone needs an immediate answer on everything. By Monday, things are fairly quiet.

Should probably put this in the "things that annoy you about your co-workers" thread but I can't stand the people there. (Cept for you CAD. Sounds like your job can be pretty $h!tty)

Anyone else catch crap for coffee at work? I make one pot that's even half the strength of what I'd want to drink and hear people complain it's too strong. I can't even drink the crap that's usually there. Be better off chugging diet coke

Three days, 23 pages editing in Word and then entry into database. Will probably have to redo it. Tedious is a good non-violent word for it.

Well, as my boss always says when I have to do something ****ty, 'it all pays the same.'

Doesn't make it any better... Actually, not sure why I'm telling you that. It never helps.

It's surely not as bad here as I make it sound. It is just night and day. Either not a damn thing for me to do, or the work of five engineers at once sitting on my desk.

Someone called me out for not making a pot once after pouring a cup and bailing, I called them out for standing in the cafe chatting for the last hour about their BMW. At that time, I had work to do. No time to make a new pot so the rich sales guy can pour 3/4 the pot in his travel mug.
