I'd love to visit New Orleans. I've heard the rest of the state is hell.

I drove through OK on Greyhound once, spent 8 hours stuck in Tulsa. That was enough to say I'm also fine never setting foot in that state again.

Hey ive got a decision between New Orleans LA, Houston TX, and Atlanta GA, maybe Seattle WA, for company training, each are different courses but relevant t my line of work so I really only care about the beer scene. Where should I pick?

Drinking some Alka-Seltzer cold medicine before hitting the road. This ought to be a fun trip over the new couple of days...

Coffee. Morning friendly friends. Gettin ready for a run- brought my Vienna lager upstairs last night for a diacetyl rest, it was at 1.018 and I am expecting it to drop too 1.012-13. Tasted really good but you can tell its at 1.018. I didn't detect any diacetyl

Seattle it the obvious choice being in the Pacific Northwest. Atlanta might be the sleeper pick though- lots of breweries; buuuuuuut you are still in the dirty south

Woke up in Mexico once after a night of hard partying in CA. The guy who thought it would be funny to put three seriously drunk people in his car and drive down also thought it was a good idea to offload us at a scumbag motel and hit a bar solo. He was making eye balls at this chic that the locals were enamored with, so they wound up taking him from the bar out back, beat him down and removed four of his teeth with pliers.

The high today is going to be close to 65. They are also calling for possible snow on Friday.

"Possible accumulation in parts of the area" is how they're phrasing it here. Last time they said that, we got 5 or 6 inches out of the blue.

At least my day today isn't murder and at least I should be home at a reasonable hour.

It does look like a vase in that picture, but it actually has a little stem on it. It's really unique. I almost wonder if it is just another sundae glass or if it is like.. some fancy Sunday morning champagne or I don't know.

The only glass I ever broke was one I tossed like a hand grenade off my second floor balcony on my 21st birthday. Wife breaks everything she touches, so I always clean the stuff that is of value to me.

Tulip, okay got ya. I just meant that when I looked up stout glass, the pictures that came up look exactly like the IPA ones. No big deal, the only reason I'm interested is because this glassware has been in the family much longer than I have been.

    Thanks guys. Morning. Coffee.

thanks to @thatjonguy, I'll be forever spoiled with stouts. This glass does make a difference with stouts, it really helps bring barrel notes to the forefront, and its Purdy, too
The IPA counterpart is in the same boat. Its great. It also holds a bunch more then a typical nonic or shaker. A tulip holds a good deal, but I love my Spiegelau glasses.

Morning friendlies. Operating on negative sleep today. Thankfully I had enough coffee beans left for a single cup. Going to have to roast some today if time permits or tomorrow is really going to suck. My wallet is killing me today as I have both the gas company here hooking up service to my house and the heating/AC guys here installing the lines and venting to replace my heat and water heater. I know it will pay itself off in the long run as my current system is 20 some years old and loud as crap, but this is not going to be a cheap or fun check to write out.

lol aye, the last storm was 'no big deal' until like two days before 2' of snow piled up. I wouldn't say it was total panic, but getting anything done on our normal food shopping day was near impossible.

Ooo here goes a good one...
when you travel, do you take beer with you or leave it to chance to try something local that you wouldn't try normally?

Drinking some chai tea to start. Then coffee.

Plus I had a swig of Robitussin extra strength...

If I'm driving, I always bring some with... with the exception of my last trip, which was a huuuuuuge mistake. Didn't know the only decent bottle shop was 20-30 mins away and couldn't even get away long enough to go, until the next day. Thought I was going to die, the restaurant we went to didn't even serve alcohol.

Flying, no... I'll settle for Busch/Bud light if I can't find anything else. After a few gin and tonics on the plane, of course.

Depends. If I'm going to a work conference, it is almost certainly going to be at a state park in a dry county and/or a 30 minute drive from anything of consequence. BYOB.

If I'm traveling for pleasure, I plan around locations that have breweries. Local all the way.

I like to play the game of chance. I'll always snoop around for something local or something I haven't had before. I have run into situations where it back fired, but bourbon will always be there for me with open arms in that case.

Might have to post my own QOTD for my fellow peasants in the thread that can't afford such luxuries as recreational travel... if I had that chance, the only instance in which I would take my own beer would be if I could not get any at all. Camping or going to the beach. Otherwise, I travel with only what I can carry.

on a second note, Id love to see another QOTD from somebody. I'm boring lol

I remember when we did a trip to London a few years back, between both me and my wife we had one carry on bag for the both of us for a four day trip. It was spectacular blowing ahead of everybody in customs, waiting for their bags to come across the conveyer belt.
I miss those days of travel.
