I had to open this thread to understand what the title meant. Huge SW fan but it didn't click. I waited in line at the towns only theater to see 4 back in 77. I really got into the Cartoon Network show Clone Wars. Watched them all on Netflix.
I love all the movies, some more than others. I just watched 4 and 5 last week. 3 and 5 are my favorites. One thing I really liked about the prequels were the awesome lightsaber duels. That was really lacking in 456. Even the Luke/Vader battles were meh. Anakin was too much of a whiny beehatch in 2.
I don't generally prescribe to any order. I just watch which one I feel like watching. If I were introducing them to someone for the first time, I would go in the order they were made.
    Really looking forward to Awakens!

I watched the anti-cheese version of Ep1 last night. Much better!

I recently went through it according to the machete sequence. I haven't seen any of the films in many years, so it was almost like watching it for the first time. I highly suggest it.

The only problem I had with it is that before I watched it in that way, I read a theory about Jar-Jar actually being the "new" Yoda in 1-2-3. Even to the point of showing what type of martial arts his character could've been based upon. I haven't seen TFA yet, but man was that theory incredibly convincing that Jar-Jar was actually in control of the entire dark side, the entire time.

And then I read another theory about why Luke actually turned to the dark side and how the trailers and even the posters were alluding to it.

Needless to say, I'm incredibly excited for Episode 7, but don't know when I'll get to watch it, and how long my luck of no spoilers can hold (I'm headed off to a cabin in the mountains for Christmas. Not even cell service up there).

Going back, I don't think Hayden Christensen is necessarily a terrible actor. He was well regarded in his performance Life as a House and Shattered Glass. Natalie POrtman went on to win an Oscar and be regarded as a very good actress. They both were horrible in the prequels. I chalk the majority of that up to Lucas's directing and writing.

Including my early impression of 7, I'd rank them

5,4,6,7,3,2/1 I don't like 2 or 1 at all though. I'm not sure which one I like less.

Turns out that Norwegians aren't as crazy excited to go see it as Americans are. So I actually was able to buy a ticket for a matinee showing this morning. After having watched it, I highly recommend the Machete order, or for those that don't want to take the time to look it up it's 4,5,2,3,6, and now 7.

Just finished #2 & #3 today. So much answered in the last 30 minutes of #3.

Maybe #6 tomorrow night, but going to wait until there are no big lines for #7.

Watched IV and V today. I see no reason to bore my kid to sleep with III just yet. Can't find my 1,2 and 3 DVDS. There's a few boxes of old CDs and DVDs in the garage though.

Just got back from seeing the new one. Special effects/CGI are pretty cool. Aside from the vicariously painful appearance of certain former cast members not knowing when to say when, it was pretty good. Would I see it again? Meh. Expectedly, the plot continues to thicken...

Actually I'm sure it has less to do with actors not knowing when to say when as it does with the fans demanding it. Star Wars set 100 years in the future with all the ties to the original movies gone would be rough. Considering that there weren't that many characters from the original who were back and way more new characters including the main 3 and the villain. It's not bad at all.

I'd considered the machete sequence after reading about it. There is a lot to like about it and not much missing.

I did not go back and watch any of the old movies. I'd seen all of them a couple of times, except Ep III. I think I've only seen that one one time.

Saw TFA on Saturday. It was actually pretty good. I thought the original cast was ok, but the new characters were great! I'd go watch it again when the time is right during the holidays.

Last week one of my employees got her husband tickets to Epispde VII (for tomorrow night) as an early christmas gift because he's "a huge star wars fan". As it turns out, he's only ever seen IV, V, and I. And she's only seen IV. :drunk: They own all 6 on Blue Ray but never watched them all.

I urged her and her husband to watch at least IV, V, and VI this weekend before going to see VII. And suggested maybe just skipping I-III.

She tells me this morning that this weekend they watched I, II, III, IV, & V (in that order), and that III was their favorite by far. :drunk:

There is no WAY III is better than ESB! Not for any actual human being.

I'm not saying it wasn't a good movie, all things considered (eps I and II...), but COME ON!

Of course they didn't get the shock of their lives finding out that Darth Vader was Luke's father like I did when I saw ESB in the theater. (Spoiler alert...) (Also I owned the ESB sound track AND the book!)

So she and her husband saw VII last night. She says now THAT one's her favorite.

Okay, still wrong, but a better wrong answer than III.
