3-in-1 possibility?

currently Biab. I am thinking about purchasing a stainless conical fermenter like (http://www.ssbrewtech.com/collection...llon-fermenter).
I was wondering if i coupled this with a hotrod stick (https://www.brewhardware.com/product_p/hotrod.htm) and a heating element, if i could Biab in the fermenter, let the wort cool and then ferment all in the same vessel. There are products that perform this but they are pretty pricey. Has anyone tried this? I welcome all feedback.

 

Yes, you could. There's people (mainly Aussies) that have been doing BIAB -> no chill overnight in the kettle -> ferment for years. Conical would be nicer to avoid siphons and dump trub, sure.

 

Cool. I assume that since it's stainless steel it should be able to withstand the temperatures. And at around $600 total, it's less than half the price of a brewha system. Hopefully the only issue is potentially voiding the warranty.

 

Also if you're on a budget look on eBay at the 12.5gal American Homebrewing conicals. Augie has a thread about 'em and I bought two after seeing it. Both of us have good welds and experiences. Cheapest conical out there I believe and they're quality.
