Thanks Ginger. I'll send you my address in a facebook message. I haven't decided if I'm going to go premium again on here. The irony is that I should get a year free for winning this year's league. Unfortunately, because I have so many old messages in my mailbox, I can't send a message to Tx. lol.

Looking forward to this season. Small goals, like finishing above .500. My offense was very good but my pitching was mediocre....

Well I gave you my outline of how I go about it. Guess it's time to see if your scouting is as strong as mine!

Just kidding, nice showing for a first year guy. I am looking forward to more trades with everyone - hopefully even more that don't include me! - and a fun season.

I can promise you, that on my own, I will not come close to putting together as detailed a report as you did! But I am going to give it a shot based on your outline. So thanks for that. :mug:

The site is in "update mode". As soon as I can, I will activate the league and set up our draft day/time.

I'm currently thinking Sunday, March 29th at 8 or 9pm EST. I believe Opening Night this year is the following Sunday, April 5th.

Could we do 8 EST if we're doing a Sunday evening draft?

    7/8 keepers right?

Are trades able to be processed at this time?

Were replacement owners for the two one-win teams located?

I checked in with Lipstick City. He's definitely back and able to participate again. He'll check in with the Bridgetown team as that's his buddy.

Pitchers and catchers have reported and it's officially baseball season!

    Is Bridgetown coming back?

It's on this year. I lost to Johnny by 20.7 points on the final day of the playoffs. So close. Victory was ripped from my finger tips. I'm ready to redeem myself!

Is there a date to have keepers selected for?

I think you have until an hour before the draft to lock in your keepers.

Any chance to bump that up to a day at least? Give owners time to plan?

I can look into it. What would that do though?

And don't mind me. I've been drinking.

It would give team owners more than one hour to see who was thrown back in the player pool. Most keeper leagues I've played in have keeper selections lock a week before draft.

That was my point last year. It's hard to put your "want" list together, when you do not know who is available. I was in a mad scramble the hour prior to draft, because that was the first time we saw available players. Locking keepers a week prior to the draft would give us all more time to put together our prospective draft list.

I was able to adjust that setting.

KEEPERS NEED TO BE LOCKED IN A WEEK BEFORE THE DRAFT, PEOPLE!

    There. Everyone heard that.

Sunday, Mar. 22nd at 12am, keepers get locked in.

I know I am late to the party...I dislike that really, What if there is a significant injury (ie Tommy John) to a keeper? Honestly, the system has worked fine.

Take an hour at some point and figure out who each team is likely to keep. Then decide who you want to target. Only a little bit more than 25% of the usable player pool can possibly be kept.

Further, the idea that one's draft is thrown off by this is a more than a little bit absurd. What happens when someone drafts your next target before you get a chance? You move on to your next option...no different than if someone keeps a player unexpectedly. Drafts are fluid and absolute information is a two-headed monster, being flexible and rational is how one drafts well. I should know, I am neither of these things! :mug:

    Also and far more importantly...

How were people picking up players in February? I thought that we did away with that last year?

Personally, I don't care how we do it. I was only making the point, that I made this point last year. I do believe that knowing the pool helps me draft, but I am overly OCD and anal-retentive and need everything in order in advance of doing anything. So if the majority says keeper an hour before the draft, I'm fine with that.

As far as the off-season trades, I can't answer that one. I wanted to make a trade so I thought I would see what happened. It worked.

Trades are fine year round...but we agreed that there should not be offseason pickups in general, I thought.

I agree, but there is no way to close the available player pool.

As for the keeper lock date, whatever everyone feels is best. I can care less.
