Ok first thing is I'm curious if I keg my beers and then want to bottle then can I pour them straight in from the tap without adding sugar to the bottle? Another thing is I'm just curious who on this forum is from Michigan. I was just curious if there was anyone near me that I could compare ideas with etc etc I'm in lower michigan. I'm in lapeer which is near flint,davison,grandblanc.......

I am not from Michigan but you can do that with a special wand attachment. I am not sure what the wand attachment is but I know that they exist and friends of mine have done it. Basically you can not put the bottle up to the faucet and pour that way.

A huge majority of this forum seems to be from MI.

I remember one being called a "bottling gun" by a home brewer on youtube. The co2 tank powers it I think. It's like a pressurized bottling wand.

Tons of great brewing going on in Michigan with places like Bell's, New Holland, North Peak, Jolly Pumpkin, Right Brain, Detroit Beer Co., Sherwood Brewing just to name a few. That has got to trickle to the home base!

To answer your second question, I'm in Macomb MI now (walking distance to a great homebrew store Cap N' Cork!), but grew up in Fenton which is in the Flint Metro League with the Lapeer schools.

It appears that those of us from Michigan are the largest geographic sector on this forum. There's over 500 of us on the Michigan Masher's Subforum alone.

Well no offense to other states but Michigan is the great beer state lol. I was just curious because for all the people I know I only know a few who are into brewing and I don't know any any shops that are too close to here... Like we have lager mill in frankenmuth, cap n cork, and hop mans but there all over a hour away for me

I drive about 40 minutes to cap and cork.

Are you sure none of these homebrewshops are nearer?

Leopold brothers was closed back in 08. Adventures in Homebrewing is supposed to be opening a second store in that area though. It's a bit far from Lapeer though.

I've heard Hopman's is good but I don't think it's a straight shot from Lapeer. Might be closer than cap and cork.

It does suck to live so far away from a quality HBS. However, if you are like me, you want to support Michigan businesses and try to improve the sorry state of our economy. Adventures in Home Brewing is a Michigan company that has online service. They are opening here in Ann Arbor as they expand their customer base. It is still at least an hour drive for you.

I'm down in Westland and go to Adventures in Homebrewing for most of my supplies. I wasn't aware that Brew and Grow was open on 7 Mile. I thought they closed shop when they closed the 8 Mile location.

I got a buddy in Lapeer. If you see an old biker wearing a fedora and smoking a cigar, it's him.

    Michigan (Downriver) checking in. :rockin:

I'm spoiled. I have 2 LHBS to choose from, one 10 min away (Great Lakes Homebrew Supply) and the other 20 min away (Adventures in Homebrewing).
