10" water/beer filter sources

Can anyone who filters beer recommend a source for 10" water/beer filters? I'd like to pick up both 1 micron and 0.5 micron and give them a try.

Have people found better value with reusable filters or disposable filters?

How effective are "nominal" filters?

These are to go in my recently purchased "Home Depot" whole house water filter cannister.

Got mine from discountfilterstore.com. No affiliation but it seemed cheap and the shipping was free. I went for the ChlorPlus-10 filter which is supposed to remove chloramines. But I would be interested to know what other people use.

Do you have to change the filter after each beer your filter, or do you just back-flush it or something?

I just ordered a new one to replace the old one that still works after eight years. The listed price includes UPS ground.

 

What material is best for reusing? It's not clear what types of filters can be reused and which are meant to be disposable.

 

How many microns do you use? I am between the 0.35u and the 1u. I can't seem to find a 0.5u pleated filter anywhere online.
