1" spud for heating element, protecting the electrical connection

For those of you that use a welding spud to mount your element in, how have you then covered the electrical connections?

 

I used a plastic NEMA junction box attached by 4 10-32 bolts that I welded to the side of the keg. You can also solder them to the side, it's not hard to do. I just bought 1-1/2" 10-32 ss bolts from lowes. They also dub as a ground stud for the keggles. After that, I just put a nice clean bead of silicone around the j box to water seal it.

See my post for some pics, I used a 1" PVC coupling, slip on one end, thread on the other. Simple and effective.

I wanted to find a way to screw a plastic elbow on, maybe using an inner and outer threaded port/spud/coupling/union. Element threading inside and plastic elbow the covering and leading the wires down. Probably going to cost a lot more, if the appropriate part even exists doesn't provide much benefit over the slip fitting I now think.
