In the United States contrary to popular belife drinking is legal under the age of 21 in MOST states. Check you local drinking laws for clarification. In many states there is no clause on homebrewing meaning it is no legal or illegal and probably falls under the category of minimum drinking age. In most states it is legal for an underage person to drink if they are on private property, have parental supervision/consent, or for religious practices.

Although federaly drinking under 21 is against the law the state has the final law making in their hands and a state could change their drinking age to a lower/higher age if they so choose. The consequence of a state doing this is they loose federal highway funding wich most states can not afford to loose.
