Ok just looking for a good fryer as I don't think my stove (glass) will handle a 30+Qt pot.
What do you think of this 35 Gal set up? It's even got a drain.. I could replace with a ball valve or could this work?

I think 35 Qt should be large enough for a 5 gal finnish boil.

Your input appreciated.

I like the top of that thing, virtually makes boilovers null. 35qt will be plenty for a 5gal boil, I use a 32qt tamale steamer for 5 gal boils.

It may be difficult to swap out the drain on it, it's worth looking into though if not only for the pot and burner setup.

it would also be difficult to upgrade to a new kettle if you ever wanted to.

Are you planning on using that burner? 50,000 BTU's seems low to me for a 5 gallon boil.

I really like how that's set up. I have been keeping my eye on it at Lowe's waiting for it to go on sale. No luck yet.

Read the Reviews on the Link you posted, it sounds like most were pretty unhappy with it.

My SQ14 is 55K. It gets 8 gallons to boil in 12-15 minutes.

+1. The SQ14 is a perfectly acceptable burner at 55K. 50K will be fine.
