Hey Y'all,

Brewing a RIS today, and got horrible efficiency. About 55%. I want to boost the gravity from 1.70 to 1.09. how much dry malt extract would it take to do that?

I'm a bit worked up right now and am having some trouble putting together a plan. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Newlander

Add about 3 lbs of DME to make up the difference.

For future reference, each pound of DME is capable of 45 gravity points. So in 5 gallons, that would be an addition of 1.009 per pound. Three pounds would add 1.027.

good to know.
combination of 6 instead of 10 gallon, and higher gravity than usual resulted in some problems. In hindsight I should have just used some extract instead of so mush 2 row.
