Jim Beam? Psssh. That's a Jack Daniels barrel! (Sorry, my shortsighted TN roots will have none of that Beam-stuff). In downtown Lynchburg, TN there's a store called "The Barrel Store" - you can just go there and get one for $75.

oooo sorry i ment to write JD not beam. i live in australia and cant find anyway to get a used distiller barrel from them and over there use go to shop lol this suck. cant even find a way to get one shipped do they have a website this shop

So in reviewing this thread with my mind on an upcoming project....how did you control the fermentation temps on 60G of brew? I have some thoughts on my own project, but was curious how you did yours?

Where is this store you speak of; what area of Lynchburg? I am up that way every month or so and might try to grab one.

edit: I think I found it... is it right outside of the distillery?

Pseudochef,
I am currently planning on building a 1bbl system. Did you get your barrel right after it was emptied or was it already pretty dried out?

I am right down the road in Murfreesboro. If I get it going in the fall I might get a group of people by to help.
