I have access to some real cheap Pin Lock kegs , but I currently have all Ball Locks.

Can you switch out Pin Lock Posts with Ball Lock Posts?

Not directly. I have seen an adapter available from Foxx Equipment. If you are short on headspace, those won't help.

On the flip side. It isn't that hard to install a swivel nut and get the flare type disconnects thus maing it very easy to swap out connectors.

I thought you could as long as you stay in the right production series (Champion, Challenger 'V', Cornelius-Spartan are some examples.) I guess you can't. I have never tried it.

I would be interested in this flare type disconnect as well. I have both styles of kegs and it is a pain to switch out disconnects.

A search of google came up with this:

From: "Vinbrew Supply" <devans at greenapple.com>
Subject: conveting Pin Lock to Ball lock

Yes, It is quite possible. You can buy ball lock fittings to go on the pin
lock.. I have converted two of them for customers.(5 gal corny's however)
You need to know if it is firestone or Cornelius. Ask your homebrew shop to
order the fittings for you from Foxx Equip. sales. They are the only ones I
know of that sell the conversion fittings.

Badger remarks....
"How can I convert the PIN lock to Ball lock? is it easy? is it a matter
of
"switching the fittings, or do they not interchange? I have a couple of pin
"lock couplings that I can use if I have to, but I would prefer to use all
"the same rather than having to switch out my hoses on the regulator every
"time.
