Default about doing yeast starter in a 3 gallon carboy ????

Hello I have a 3 gallon carboy an I was woundering if someone can do 1 gallon yeast starters in it an then step it up in the same carboy ??????

why not? its basically the same thing just scaled up

As long a you are confident in your sanitation, I don't see any reason why it wouldn't work.
