Default Bummer...

Bottling is my homebrewing Achilles heal. Last time I stopped brewing, about three years ago, was when bottling a batch and things weren't going right.

With all the concerns over sanitation, I put a lot into cleaning and sterilizing my bottles. I was in this process, with about 30 grolsch-style bottles (16 and 48 ounce sizes) when my bottle-tree toppled while drying, breaking a number of bottles and scattering glass throughout the kitchen. I wasn't near it and hadn't touched in in two hours. Now I need to rinse and dry them all again. 7x9 foot kitchens are too small for this hobby...

Oh well, wish I had a homebrew ready I could drink...

Bottling is hell, it pushed me to kegging pretty quickly.
Sorry to hear about the bottle breakage, hopefully you have enough spares.

In Primary: Belgium Chimay clones.
In Secondary: Braggot, pale ale, end of the world white.
Conditioning: Mead, Cider, braggot, Belgium Wheat.
On Tap: Clones, Chimay Blue, Red, Porter, malted cider.
Bottles: Far, far, too many to list.

my bottle tree is my dishwasher.

i have a "fancy-shmancy "Kitchen-Aid" with a sanitary rinse cycle.
hold 50-60 bottles no prob.
rinse em half way decent, then run it with no soap, on heavy wash, with hi temp scrubb, and sani rinse.
nothing can live through that!
then, they are right there for the grabbin'.
no bottle tree needed.

we will see how it works tomorrow.

wow! i did one hell of a job typin' after 8 micro brews.... cannot wait till some homebrew is ready

Sorry to hear about your mishap Alfista... bottling is a pain for sure.
