I was searching for instructions on the Mr Beer site and came accross this page

Lots of guys here use their Mr. Beer to make small batches of Apfelwein.

I don't think I'd buy a cider kit....It's just not worth it.

Me too, My old Mr Beer fermenter is now my hooch playground.
