today's date in 1978 (10-14-1978) legalization was signed that made homebrewing beer federally legal. It was House Resolution 1377 (Senate Amendment 3534) That was signed and put into effect by President Jimmy Carter.

I love that I brewed my first beer on the anniversary without even knowing it.

EDIT: Damn, it took me THREE edits to spell BEER right. And I"m not even drinking any!
