we have tried this and the beer is turing out great. instead of the normal 3gal boil and adding the malt and hops, then adding to 2.5 gal in a carboy, we have just been starting off with 6.5 gal in our keggle......steep some grains for 20-40 minutes and then boiling for an hour. we have been consistantly ending up with 5 gallons for the carboy. Just wondering if there is any problems with this direction.....thanks

No problem with that at all. Just make sure your extract is completely dissolved in the wort and none is on the bottom and you'll be fine.

No problem, in fact a full boil is a superior way to go. The only downside is you've got a lot more hot wort to cool down quickly, instead of being able to add chilled top-off water. If you've got an immersion chiller, no worries.

Also be advised that you'll get higher hop utilization with a full boil. Which again is a good thing, so long as you're aware of it and make any necessary adjustments to your hop schedule.
