Default Beer Gun question

So, generally speaking, the idea behind the beer gun is to bottle already carbed beers. Is there any reason you couldn't fill a keg as though it were a bottling bucket, and bottle the beers that same day (and let them bottle condition)?

The only reason I ask, is that my kegging is basically in the stone age, in that I don't really have a reliable way to cool them (basically, I use them for parties when I cool it in a large bin the way a frat would with a regular keg).

I know it's kind of an odd question, but just wondering.

Yeah it will work. Attach your filler want to the end of the picnic tap. You want to leave the pressure low though so that it doesnt foam when its going into the bottle
