I finally drilled and hooked up my keggle with a weldless fitting. I installed the 1/2" ball lock fitting on the outside. What type of nipple do you suggest to use on the outside?

I don't have a keggle...bit 1/2" is what I use on my Mash Tun...ad it works great.
