The day after 888 and my stike water is up to 150 already, coffee is ready and MLT is preheating.

It's gonna be a hot day today, but Oktoberfest Ale has got to be brewed!

I was hoping to brew an Oktoberfest as well, but being it is only my third brew I was either going to pick up a brewer's best kit while at home, or was going to look at a recipe and try to make a lauter-tun and try at a partial mash for the first time. Being as I just had my appendix out I am not suppose to be lifting things that are heavy (heavy to me is well over what the heavy they are talking about though). Unfortunately all my brew equipment is up at my apartment so I won't be brewing until Monday after work. Any suggestions on doing a partial mash for the first time? I may not do partial mash because of the surgery and it would be easier and less time consuming to just buy the kit. Input on the choice would be nice. Thanks! I have a Biere De Garde going for Sunday. I guess I beat a few of you my Oktoberfest has been in primary for 4 weeks now, the Whitelabs Oktoberfest yeast is a slow one so plan on a long primary if you choose that yeast.

Doughed in, now to settle for a 90 minute mash. I have to finish this up this morning as today is the Austin Zealots Summer Picnic. Hmmmm, Beer!

Soon as the office opens at my apartments I will be picking up my grain mill and if everything goes well I will be brewing my 2nd PM tomorrow. I'll be brewing BierMuncher's OktoberFAST Ale.

I made FlyGuy's MLT conversion last week and made my first PM last week. FlyGuy's instructions are great just remember to put the O-Ring on, it does not seal well without it. Everything with my PM went well took me about 4 hours from start to finish. I would recommend having your LHBS crush he grains for you, crushing grains will a rolling pin is no fun.

Brewed last night does that count?

First batch of the year unfortunately. Made my Dirty Blonde receipt. It is happily bubbling along at about 70f, with a nice creamy Krausen.

Brewed my Big Bourbon Barrel Brown last night, planning to have it ready to drink by Christmas (no one in my family likes spiced beers). OG 1.074, with a pint of bourbon and some oak going in to the secondary.

I'm going to brew an AHS Honey Blonde ale sometime this weekend. I bottled a pale ale yesterday.
