I have read about several different ways to make my beer clearer. Just wondering if anyone on this forum has a favorite practice.

Different brewers will have different preferences for just about any technique you can imagine.....

Good luck sorting it all out.

I know its hard to wait, but if you have a couple of brews in the pipeline or already made, then it won't be so hard...

  • Clarifyers added at the last minutes of the boil
  • Clarifyers added at 2ndary
  • Time!

If you do a search on "clarifyers" or "gelatin/whirfloc/irish moss" hell, even "clear" you will find more info.

Whirfloc + time + additional time at cold temps = beer as clear as anything you can buy commercially.

I use extract kits, with a liquid yeast "smack pack"

At least 2 weeks in primary, keep an eye on gravity reading, 2-3 weeks in secondary, when racking into bottling bucket very little has settled in bottom of carboy, after bottling and conditiond "All is clear"

Could be beginners luck, will bottle 5th batch next week, but "if it ain't broke don't fix it", that's what I always say

I'm a bit impatient, so it pains me to say the most reliable clearing method I've found is time. Lucky for me, slightly hazy beer tastes just fine.
