I'm moving a wheat beer to a secondary tomorrow, to make room for a new brew in my carboy. (The reason I have to move the beer is I'm planning on reusing the yeast cake.)
Problem is, summer in Brooklyn is hot, and my apt. is hot. I've been using the swamp cooler approach for this wheat, and have been able to keep it 72F and under (I think). I wont have room for full primary and secondary in the swamp cooler tub.
My question: is the temp of the beer in the secondary as important as the temp in the primary? If the beer in the secondary hits 80, is it going to be alright?

Thanks for any advice.

Since you are brewing a wheat beer, you should be fine. As for other beer styles, as long as fermentation is complete, the only drawbacks to a warmer secondary are longer times for clearing and conditioning....

I think.
