I have a layer of sediment at the bottom of the bottles just 2 days after bottling. Is this normal? Should I shake the bottles to put it back into suspension?

no! let it settle out... if it is settling out it's doing its thing.

It's hard to say what's "normal" in bottling, because most of us just stick them in the closet for 3 weeks...not worry over them.

Step away from your bottles for the next 19 days...Don't stare at them, don't move them, don't obsess over them...They Yeasts don't need your help...they're fine...they know what they need to do.

Go brew another beer or something.

+1 for Revvy's advice. Let it sit 21 days at 70F. You'll be very happy that you did...

beer is like a baby...shaking is BAD.

if you had bottles that won't carb after a month, you might GENTLY invert it a few times, or lay on its side and roll it back and forth.

but don't shake it. It angers the Beer Gods.
