Default canning jar ?

I found a one gallon ball canning jar today at a yard sale for 25 cents. It was the last piece that I needed to harvest yeast per berniebrewer's thread. The problem is, it didn't inlcude a lid. Are the current "wide mouth" lids the right size? They look smaller, but I haven't measured them yet. The top is 4 1/4" OD. It doesn't look like the jars themselves are sold anymore with a screw on lid.

Just cover the top of the big jar with aluminum foil and crumple it around the sides a little bit. You don't really need to have an airtight seal, just something to prevent filthies from falling into your jar.
